Braza 2 year anniversary party

Hard to believe it’s been 2 years since SOM. opened its doors to the public. But time marches along and on November 4th it’s time to celebrate by raising the bar one notch higher as we proudly present DJ Nu-Mark dropping an exclusive Brazilian set for the BRAZA! Two Year Anniversary Party! Since the 1990’s Nu-Mark is widely recognized as one of the key figures in pushing the DJ to the front of our culture’s awareness through his ongoing involvement with the mighty hip hop outfit Jurassic 5, his inclusion in a diversity of publications and films (including “Scratch”, “Keepin Time”, and “Coachella: The Movie”) and his numerous trips around the globe on tour. Aside from refining his turntable skills to establish himself among the best in the industry, Nu-Mark is well-known for his innovative DJ routines and creative on-stage antics which sometimes incorporate rubber bands, children’s toys and unique “musical” objects to create impressive and hilarious plays on sound. Nu-Mark revels in surprising an audience with carefully crafted, explosively energetic sets which evoke his eccentric sense of humor and devotion to solid, simply dope music in a wide range of musical styles. Giving him the parameters of an all Brazilian DJ set will be pure beleza!

And as if this party needed more firepower BRAZA! and SOM. are also thrilled to bear witness to the soundz of REK, the new project from an old friend, as local DJ legend Soulsalaam returns from Sao Paulo to the Bay Area after several years of painful absence for his “Amped Galaxy” tour! (facebook.com/reksoundz / soundcloud.com/reksoundz / reksoundz.wordpress.com) Exclusively at SOM. he’ll be dropping a set of Tropicas Bass, Dubstep & Samba Crunk Mash-ups. So mark the calendars and tell a friend because this night is not to be missed! Morô?
